She was admitted as an Attorney, Solicitor and Proctor by the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1984, and as a Solicitor in the High Court of Australia in 1985. She was appointed a Public Notary by the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1993. Although she has been living in Colorado since 2000, Ms. Pilmanis is still on the rolls of both the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
From 1989 to 1994, Ms Pilmanis was a partner in the firm of Noel Brown and Peter Wainberg in the Sydney suburb of Fairfield. During this time, she handled all the firm's immigration matters, including lodging applications for spouse, last remaining relative, business sponsorship and refugees. She also handled appeals to MIRO, the Immigration Review Tribunal and Federal Court.
In 1993, shortly after implementation of the new Migration Act, Ms Pilmanis became a Registered Migration Agent in accordance with the new law. Issued by the Migration Agents Registration Authority, her Registered Migration Agent Number (RMAN) is 9359403.
Between 1994 and 2000, Ms. Pilmanis worked in the commercial divisions of Dibbs Crowther & Osborne, Colin Biggers & Paisley and Corrs Chambers Westgarth, three of Australia's most respected and largest national and international law firms. She provided extensive advice and lodged successful immigration applications for many national and international corporations and individuals. She also advised in various other areas of law, including commercial, wills and estates, personal injury and product liability.
Ms Pilmanis moved with her family to the United States of America in 2000. In 2001, she earned admission to the Colorado Bar and was admitted as an Attorney and Counselor at Law by the Supreme Court of Colorado.
In 2001, after receiving her USA green card, Ms. Pilmanis founded her own firm, Anda Pilmanis P.C., in Highlands Ranch, a large suburb south of Denver. She specializes in Australian immigration law and is only one of a handful of Registered Migration Agents in the USA who are legally allowed to practice Australian immigration law. Since she first launched her own firm, she has advised potential Australian emigrants and lodged immigration applications for individuals and businesses throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Europe.
Ms Pilmanis is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA), the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Colorado Bar Association (Cobar).
